Saving your Beeper Recovery Code in Apple Keychain
Learn how to securely store and access your Beeper Recovery Code using Apple Keychain for easy retrieval and peace of mind.
Beeper Account Setup
Creating a new Beeper account is not yet available in the current version of the iOS app. We hope to add this feature as we launch the new generation iOS app soon! In the meantime, you may use Beeper Desktop or Beeper Android to create an account.
Chat Network Management
To connect, reconnect, or delete your chat network accounts in Beeper, please use Beeper Desktop or Beeper Android. This is not available on the current version of Beeper iOS, but we plan to add this in the new generation version of the iOS app in the future.
The Beeper iOS App automatically saves your recovery code using Apple's Keychain API on your first log in using your Recovery Code. Because of this, you will not find this entry on your Keychain settings in your iPhone.
This article will guide you through manually creating an Apple Keychain card to save your Beeper Recovery Code. This will allow you to quickly sign in to your Beeper account on an iOS device after a device restore, a new device setup, or an app reinstall.
Step by Step
Make sure you have your Recovery Code on hand. This code was provided to you during your Beeper onboarding. If, for some reason, you don't have your account Recovery Key on hand, lost it, or forgot it, you can follow the steps in this article to reset it.
1. On your iOS device, go to Settings > Passwords > and press +
2. You'll have to enter the following information and tap Done
- Website: “beeper.com”
- User Name: your username
- Password: your password
3. Once created, search for “beeper” in Settings > Passwords and select the Keychain you just created.
4. Tap Edit, and under Notes, write the following:
- On the Notes box, write: “Security Key: paste your Recovery Code here”.
5. Tap Done, and your Keychain card should be like this:
