How to create a Note to Self chat on Beeper Desktop

Note to Self is a private chat where you're the only member. It's handy for saving links, drafts, reminders, or anything else you want to keep handy. If you left your original Note to Self chat accidentally, or you'd like separate note chats for different parts of your workflow, you can create a new one in a few steps.

Create a Note to Self chat on Beeper Desktop.

1. Click Start New Chat.
2. Filter the chat networks to Beeper.
3. Select New Group.
4. Add yourself to the group by entering your Beeper ID (for example, @yourusername:beeper.com).
5. Give the chat a name, like Notes to Self.
6. Click Start group chat. Your new chat will appear at the bottom of your Inbox.

Customize your note chat.

1. Open the chat you just created.
2. Click the chat header (the chat name or avatar) and select Edit → Edit for Me.
3. From here, you can rename the chat or add an avatar.

Tip: You can repeat these steps as many times as you like. For example, you could keep one note chat for work tasks and another for personal reminders.

TL;DR

Start a new Beeper group chat with only yourself as the member, name it, and it becomes your Note to Self chat. Use Edit → Edit for Me from the chat header to change its name or avatar.
