Beeper iOS: Managing Your Inbox
Inbox Actions:
The new Beeper iOS Beta app lets you manage your inbox according to your preferences. Here are some features you can use to customize your inbox:

đ Pins (formerly Favorites)
Have any contact that you'd like to see at the top of your screen? You can long press on their chat in your inbox and select âPinâ. This will pin them at the top as a bubble icon for easy access!

đď¸ Archive
If you want to move a chat room out of your inbox, but still be notified and have it pulled into the inbox when it receives a new message, you can move the chat room to your Archive folder.Â
Unarchive
Accidentally archived a chat room and want to move it back? No worries. Simply go to your Archive folder, long press on the chat room you want to move, and mark it as unread. This should move it back to your inbox.
Auto-archive
While this setting is only available on Beeper desktop for now, enabling this feature from there syncs your chat rooms' archive status. Your inbox on iOS will then make sure to filter out any chat room that have been marked as archive from showing up in your inbox.
đ Move to Low Priority
If you want to keep certain chat rooms out of your inbox and avoid being notified of new messages in them, we recommend using the Low Priority feature. It moves the chats out of your main view but still notifies you when you're mentioned in a message. This way, you can reduce clutter without missing anything important.
To move a chat room back from Low Priority to the inbox, simply press on the Search bar and select âLow Priorityâ to be taken to the Low Priority folder, then long press on the chat room and select âMove to Inboxâ as seen in the gif below:

Â
đ Mark as Read/Unread
The Mark as Read/Unread button lets you change the status of a message. If the message is currently unread, clicking the button will mark it as read, clearing notifications or emphasis. If the message is already read, clicking the button will mark it as unread, reapplying a notification badge or making it stand out in your inbox.
This feature helps you manage your messages efficiently, allowing you to track which ones need follow-up or attention.

âŹ ď¸ Swipe Left/Swipe Right âĄď¸Â
Depending on what you have set up in Settings, you can use Swipe Left or Swipe Right as a shortcut for Marking as Read/Unread, Archive/Unarchive, and Mute/Unmute.

Â
đ Mute/Unmute
The Mute/Unmute button allows you to control notifications for a conversation or chat.

- Mute: Selecting this will silence notifications for the conversation, ensuring you wonât be alerted about any new messages in the chat. The conversation remains accessible and will stay in your inbox list but wonât disturb you with updates. As an indicator, your chat will have a silent bell icon on it if it is muted.
- Unmute: Selecting this option will re-enable notifications for the conversation, so youâll be alerted about new messages as usual.
This feature is helpful for managing interruptions, especially for less urgent conversations.
đ Search
The Search feature in the inbox helps you quickly find specific messages or conversations. Here's how to access it:
Search bar:Â
Just enter keywords, phrases, or names to look for specific content in your inbox. As you type, the search will show instant matches, highlighting matching conversations or messages.Â
Â
Categories:
These results will be categorized by Chats, Groups, Media, and Messages.Â
Under the Messages section, youâll find the option to enable âHide Partial Matchesâ. This feature filters search results to show only messages containing the exact keyword you entered.
For example, if you search for ârootâ with âHide Partial Matchesâ turned on, the results will include messages with words like âroot,â âroot beer,â or âroot rot.â However, it will exclude messages containing words like ârootednessâ or âbeetroot.â This helps refine your search to focus only on precise matches.

Filters:Â
Narrow your search by using any of the Network filters, Inbox status options (Low Priority, Unread, Archive), or by file type (images, videos, links, or files)Â
âWhat's not Included:
⢠Deleting chat rooms: While we can unsend specific messages within your chat rooms, we're unable to delete actual chat rooms from your inbox at this time. Here's a workaround we recommend to achieve the same result
⢠Drafts: Anything you type in the composer will be saved there as a draft unless sent or manually deleted. However, unlike the Android app, we do not have a dedicated folder to view all your drafts in one place on iOS at this time.
⢠Reminders: The option to be reminded of a message later in the future is not available in Beeper yet. We recommend using the âMark as Unreadâ filter instead to mark your message as unread and highlight it in your inbox.
⢠Search history: Search does not show any records or history of previous searches.
