    Troubleshooting Facebook Issues in Beeper

Fix common Facebook connection problems in Beeper. Troubleshoot login errors, verification code delays, disconnections, and message sending issues with step-by-step solutions including 2FA setup and security checkpoint guidance.

When connecting Facebook to Beeper, you might run into a few hiccups along the way. The good news is that most of these issues have straightforward fixes. Let's walk through the common problems you might encounter and how to resolve them.

    • Disconnections
    • Sending messages

    Login and connection issues

Select the message or problem you're seeing.

    Internal error in login stepError

Start by checking your Facebook account directly. Open Facebook.com in an incognito window on your device's browser and look for any pending actions, security checkpoints, or login alerts that need your attention.

Once you've cleared those, enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Facebook account and set it to use an authenticator app, like 1Password, Google Password Manager, or Apple Passwords. This often resolves login conflicts and takes you to a different login flow when you try connecting Facebook in Beeper again.

Facebook isn't sending a verification codeProblem

Facebook can be slow to send verification codes sometimes, even when you log in to Facebook outside of Beeper.

If you're stuck waiting, enable 2FA for your Facebook account with an authenticator app (like 1Password, Google Password Manager, or Apple Passwords) instead of relying on SMS codes. Then try connecting your Facebook account to Beeper again.

The password that you've entered is incorrectError

This error typically comes from Facebook directly. Here's what to try:

    1. Verify your login works on Facebook.com using a private browser window.
    2. In Beeper, sign in using the same email or phone number and password you use on Facebook.
    3. Check for login alerts via email or the Facebook app, and approve them if needed.
    4. If prompted for 2FA, enter the code from your authenticator app.

Beeper recommends always using an authenticator app for 2FA when connecting Facebook. Apps proven to work include 1Password, Google Password Manager, and Apple Passwords.

If your login works in the browser but Beeper still shows the error, go to Settings → Report a Problem and submit a bug report.

    Disconnection issues

Select the message or problem you're seeing.

Constant disconnections or getting logged outProblem

Facebook sometimes resets login sessions as part of its security measures. When this happens, reauthenticate your connection from Settings → Accounts.

If it keeps disconnecting too often, check for and approve any security prompts from Facebook, then submit a bug report from Settings → Report a Problem.

    We suspect automated behaviorWarning

When Facebook detects activity from a new device or location, it may flag your account with this warning. This is typically a security checkpoint, not an account ban.

As long as you're using your account normally and not engaging in spam or harmful behavior, you'll be fine. Facebook flags activity outside your usual patterns, which can include logging in from new devices and locations.

To reduce disconnections, confirm the Beeper session is you in Facebook's Where you're logged in list. You can manage this in your Facebook security settings (Accounts Center → Password and security).

failed to get cloud bridge login flows: M_NOT_FOUND (HTTP 404)Error

This means the account may have been removed and re-added too quickly. Wait a few minutes before trying to connect again.

Disconnected from server, trying to reconnectStatus

This is usually a temporary disconnection, and Beeper will try to reconnect on its own.

If it persists for an extended period, submit a bug report from Settings → Report a Problem.

    Message sending problems

Select the message or problem you're seeing.

    Media too largeProblem

Beeper supports Facebook media attachments up to 100 MB. If your file is larger, compress or resize it before sending.

    Message stuck in sending stateProblem

First, check your internet connection to make sure slowness isn't affecting your ability to send.

If messages keep getting stuck, long-press any affected message and select Report a Problem to submit a bug report.

    FAQs

    1. I'm getting an "internal error" during login. What do I do?
Open Facebook.com in an incognito window and check for pending actions, security checkpoints, or login alerts. Clear those first, then enable 2FA using an authenticator app like 1Password, Google Password Manager, or Apple Passwords — this often resolves login conflicts and routes you to a different login flow next time.

    2. Facebook isn't sending me a verification code. What now?
SMS codes can be slow, even outside of Beeper. Switch to 2FA with an authenticator app (like 1Password, Google Password Manager, or Apple Passwords) instead of relying on SMS, then try connecting again.

    3. I'm seeing "The password that you've entered is incorrect," but my password is right. What's going on?
Verify your login works on Facebook.com in a private browser window, then sign in to Beeper with the same email or phone number and password. Check for login alerts via email or the Facebook app and approve them if needed. If prompted for 2FA, use an authenticator app — Beeper recommends this for every Facebook connection, and 1Password, Google Password Manager, and Apple Passwords are proven to work.
⚠️ If your login works in the browser but Beeper still shows the error, go to Settings → Report a Problem and submit a bug report.

    4. Why does my Facebook account keep disconnecting or logging out?
Facebook periodically resets login sessions as a security measure. Reauthenticate from Settings → Accounts. If it keeps happening, check for and approve any Facebook security prompts, and submit a bug report from Settings → Report a Problem.

    5. I got a "We suspect automated behavior" warning from Facebook. Is my account banned?
No — this is typically just a security checkpoint triggered by a new device or location, not a ban. Confirming the Beeper session is you under Where you're logged in in your Facebook security settings can help reduce it.

    6. I see "failed to get cloud bridge login flows: M_NOT_FOUND (HTTP 404)." What does that mean?
This usually happens if you removed and re-added the account too quickly. Wait a few minutes before trying again.

    7. I see "Disconnected from server, trying to reconnect." Should I be worried?
This is a normal, transient disconnect state that typically resolves on its own. If it persists for an extended period, submit a bug report.

    8. Why won't my photo or video send?
Beeper supports Facebook media attachments up to 100 MB. Compress or resize larger files before sending.

    9. A message is stuck in a sending state. What should I do?
First check your internet connection for slowness. If messages continue to get stuck, long-press the affected message and select "Report a Problem" to submit a bug report.
