🔗 Having trouble connecting?
Meta has strong security measures in place to protect your account. When you connect Instagram to Beeper, it may appear as a new device, browser, or location. Because of this, Meta may prompt you to complete additional verification steps—this is a normal part of their login security process.
⚠️ Important to know:
- Beeper servers are located in a variety of different locations, so the map may show a different city
- Beeper will show up as an Android phone, usually a Pixel 6 or a Linux computer
If you have trouble connecting your Instagram account in Beeper because of this, here's what you can do:
-
Confirm the login attempt
- Meta may send you either an email or a notification about a new login. This typically allows you to confirm if that login attempt was you. Use this to confirm the login and see if you're able to connect successfully (you may need to retry if the previous login attempt has expired)

-
2-Factor authentication
- To set up two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Facebook account, follow the instructions in Facebook’s Help Center guide.
Enabling 2FA helps prevent Facebook from flagging your login as suspicious—especially when signing in from a new device—since you'll be able to enter the required verification code during login.

💡 Frequently Asked Questions
-
Why am I not receiving some Messenger messages in Beeper?
If you're missing messages, make sure your Messenger connection is still active—if it disconnects, new messages won’t come through until it's reconnected.
-
Why is my Messenger chat history missing?
While end-to-end encrypted chats are pulled into Beeper, we can only pull in any new messages sent/received after the point of connection. If you're looking for older chats, you'll need to view them directly in the Facebook or Messenger app.
-
I can’t send messages through Messenger in Beeper. What should I do?
If your messages aren’t sending, it usually means your Messenger connection has expired or needs to be refreshed. Reconnect Messenger in Beeper and make sure your Facebook account is still active. We also recommend checking your Facebook app for any login confirmation requests—these must be approved before Messenger will work properly in Beeper again.
If your account is properly connected and you're still unable to send messages, long press (or right-click) on the failed message and select ‘Report a Problem’ so our Support Team can investigate it for you.
-
Messenger keeps disconnecting. Why does this keep happening?
Disconnections can happen if Facebook logs you out due to security checks, changes to your password or 2FA settings, or if you didn’t confirm a login request. Facebook may also flag login attempts as suspicious. We recommend reconnecting Messenger and approving any login alerts in your Facebook app if applicable.
-
Why can't I connect Messenger to Beeper?
- If you’re unable to connect, try enabling two-factor authentication for your Facebook account before attempting to connect again.
- Beeper currently only supports personal Facebook accounts, not business Pages.
- If you're trying to log in with a non-US phone number, the connection may fail—use your email address instead if that's the case.
-
Why does Facebook show my login from a different city or country?
This happens because Beeper’s servers are located around the world. Facebook may see your login as coming from a different location than expected. This is normal, and you can safely approve the login if prompted.
-
Can I use Messenger in Beeper if my Facebook account is deactivated?
Yes. We now use the messenger.com web login portal to connect your Messenger account, so you should be able to connect without reactivating your Facebook profile.
-
What Messenger features are not supported in Beeper?
Beeper currently does not support Stories, Reels, or post sharing, connecting Messenger Business Pages, starting a new Messenger chat, and Facebook video/audio calls.
-
Can I connect more than one Facebook Messenger account?
Yes, this feature is supported in our paid subscription through on-device connections.
-
Do self-added nicknames sync over to Beeper?
No, they do not sync over to Beeper at this time. All your Facebook chats in the inbox will be named after the Facebook contact.
