Which chat networks does Beeper import message history for?
Why older messages may be missing
When you connect a chat network, Beeper may import all, part, or none of its existing message history. The amount available depends on the network, chat type, and connection method. Messages outside a network's import limit may remain available only in that network's native app.
The limits below apply every time a network is connected, including when you reconnect it or after a Recovery Code reset. They are for Beeper Cloud connections. For many networks, scrolling up in a chat loads older messages from the network, as noted below. On-device connections import the latest 50 messages in each chat, then load older messages as you scroll back, as far as the network allows.

Beeper asks your phone for up to five years, but WhatsApp decides how much it sends. Sometimes up to three years arrives. When you scroll past that in a chat, Beeper can ask your phone for older messages while it's online. Beeper never gets all of a long WhatsApp history.

What to check
Find the network and chat type in the table above. If the missing messages fall outside its import limit, this is expected.
Open the network's native app and confirm that the conversation and messages still exist there.
Make sure the chat network is connected in Beeper.
For Signal, confirm that Transfer message history was selected while the device was linked.
If messages within the supported range are still missing
If the network is connected and messages that should be covered by the limits above are absent, report the problem from Beeper. For a gap inside a conversation, long-press the message immediately before the missing one and select Report a Problem. Include comparison screenshots from Beeper and the network's native app.
Do not remove and reconnect a chat network solely to recover history without first checking its backfill limits. Deleting a chat network wipes its related chats, messages, and media from the Beeper account, and the network may not be able to import all of that history again.
