    Having trouble connecting?

Meta has strong security measures in place to protect your account. When you connect Instagram to Beeper, it may appear as a new device, browser, or location. Because of this, Meta may prompt you to complete additional verification steps—this is a normal part of their login security process.

    ⚠️ Important to know:

    • Beeper servers are located in a variety of different locations, so the map may show a different city
    • Beeper will show up as an Android phone, usually a Pixel 6 or a Linux computer

If you have trouble connecting your Instagram account in Beeper because of this, here's what you can do:

    1. Confirm the login attempt
      • Instagram sends you an email alert for each new login, just like in the screenshot below. If there's an option to confirm the login attempt from there, please do so and then try connecting again.
      •  Similarly, you may receive a prompt to confirm the login on your Instagram app if you're currently logged in to Instagram on the mobile app. Approve the login and then try connecting Instagram to Beeper again.
    2. Before you connect: turn on Authenticator app 2FA
Instagram requires two-factor authentication with an Authenticator app to connect to Beeper.
      1. In the Instagram mobile app, go to Accounts Center → Password and security → Two-factor authentication.
      2. Select your account and choose Authentication app.
      3. Follow the prompts to link your Authenticator app (for example, Google Authenticator, Authy, or 1Password).

SMS and WhatsApp codes aren't supported for connecting Instagram to Beeper. If you already use one of these methods, add an Authenticator app before connecting.

Instagram asks to confirm the login
Meta may treat Beeper as a new device, browser, or location. The login may show as an Android phone [[commonly a Pixel 6, confirm]] or a Linux computer, and the location may differ because Beeper's servers operate in different regions.

    1. Check your email for a new-login message from Instagram and confirm the attempt was yours.
    2. Check the Instagram mobile app for a login prompt and approve it.
    3. Return to Beeper and retry. If the attempt expired, start a new connection.

    No code or prompt appeared
Make sure you're using the code from your Authenticator app, not SMS or WhatsApp. If it still doesn't work, contact Beeper Support with a screenshot of the verification screen.

    Login and connection issues

Select the message or problem you're seeing.

    Internal error in login stepError

Start by checking your Instagram account directly. Open Instagram.com in an incognito window on your device's browser and look for any pending actions or security checkpoints that need your attention.

Once you've cleared those, enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Instagram account and set it to Google Authenticator. This often resolves login conflicts and takes you to a different login flow when you try connecting Instagram in Beeper again.

Instagram isn't sending a verification codeProblem

Instagram can be slow to send verification codes sometimes, even when you log in to Instagram outside of Beeper.

If you're stuck waiting, enable 2FA for your Instagram account with Google Authenticator instead of relying on SMS codes. Then try connecting your Instagram account to Beeper again.

The login information you entered is incorrectError

This error typically comes from Instagram directly. Here's what to try:

    1. Verify your login works on Instagram.com using a private browser window.
    2. In Beeper, sign in using your Instagram username and password.
    3. Check for login alerts via email or the Instagram app, and approve them if needed.
    4. If prompted for 2FA, use your authenticator app.

    WhatsApp-based Instagram 2FA isn't supported.

If your login works in the browser but Beeper still shows the error, go to Settings → Report a Problem and submit a bug report.

    Your email is not secureWarning

This Instagram security warning occasionally appears when reconnecting. Follow Instagram's guidance when prompted.

If the error persists, report it through Settings → Report a Problem and include a screenshot so the team can investigate.

    Disconnection issues

Select the message or problem you're seeing.

Constant disconnections or getting logged outProblem

Instagram sometimes resets login sessions as part of its security measures. When this happens, reauthenticate your connection from Settings → Accounts.

If it keeps disconnecting too often, check for and approve any security prompts from Instagram, then submit a bug report from Settings → Report a Problem.

    We suspect automated behaviorWarning

When Instagram detects activity from a new device or location, it may flag your account with this warning. This is typically a security checkpoint, not an account ban.

As long as you're using your account normally and not engaging in spam or harmful behavior, you'll be fine. Instagram flags activity outside your usual patterns, which can include logging in from new devices and locations.

To reduce disconnections, verify Beeper as a recognized app in your Instagram login activity. You can manage this in your Instagram security settings.

failed to get cloud bridge login flows: M_NOT_FOUND (HTTP 404)Error

This means the account may have been removed and re-added too quickly. Wait a few minutes before trying to connect again.

Disconnected from server, trying to reconnectStatus

This is usually a temporary disconnection, and Beeper will try to reconnect on its own.

If it persists for an extended period, submit a bug report from Settings → Report a Problem.

    Message sending problems

Select the message or problem you're seeing.

    Media too largeProblem

Instagram has a maximum file size of 7.6 MiB for media attachments. If your file is larger, compress or resize it before sending.

    Message stuck in sending stateProblem

First, check your internet connection to make sure slowness isn't affecting your ability to send.

If messages keep getting stuck, long-press any affected message and select Report a Problem to submit a bug report.

This can happen with certain media types. Beeper does not currently support all Instagram media attachments, especially Reels or Story shares.

Try reconnecting Instagram in the Network Connections section. If issues continue, submit a bug report by long pressing (or right-clicking) on the failed message and select ‘Report a Problem’.

    9. Can I connect more than one Instagram account?
Yes, if your subscription allows multiple chat network accounts, you can connect multiple Instagram accounts through on-device connections, but not through Beeper Cloud. For more information, see here.
