Voice Transcriptions
TL;DR: Beeper’s Voice Transcription (paid feature) lets you turn voice messages into text so you can read them instead of listening.
What Voice Transcriptions Does
Voice Transcription is a paid Beeper feature that lets you convert voice messages into text; perfect for those moments when listening just isn’t an option. Whether you’re in a meeting, on the go, or just prefer reading over listening, you can quickly view a transcript instead of playing the audio. Even better, once a voice memo is transcribed on one device, it syncs across all your Beeper apps so you can read it anywhere, anytime.

Voice Memo Transcription and Languages
Beeper uses OpenAI's Whisper model for Talk to Type and transcribing voice messages and it's known that sometimes you will see in Beeper a transcription in a different language (in comparison to the actual audio).
How does Beeper handle this?
-
Beeper Desktop
- The desktop app implemented a feature to tackle this. If you receive a voice memo an it gets incorrectly transcribed (language) you can fix it as simple as right-clicking the Voice Memo → Transcription Language → scroll and select the correct language.
