Beeper Android: How to customize your notification sounds
Customizing chat sounds for the Beeper Android app.
The steps below have been tested on a Google Pixel device.
You can do these sound customizations with Beeper Android:
- You can assign Beeper Android the notification sound of your choosing by going to Android Settings > Apps > Beeper > Notifications > Message Notifications > Sound > Select your preferred sound
Customize app sound per device manufacturer:
Google Pixel: Android Settings → Apps → Beeper → Notifications → Message Notifications → Sound
OnePlus: Settings → Apps → App management → Beeper → Message notifications → Ringtone
Samsung (OneUI 6.1): Open Settings → Notifications menu. → Advanced Settings menu. → Turn on “Manage notification categories for each app".
- You can assign a customized sound for each chat by using Android Bubbles.
- Once a Chat Bubble is created, proceed with the following:
- Open the Bubble for the Beeper Android chat
- Tap Manage
- Select Beeper settings
- Under "Conversations", select the person or chat you want to assign a custom sound to
- The conversation settings will open; select Sound
- Choose from the options available to you.
- Once a Chat Bubble is created, proceed with the following:
- You can Mute all your incoming notifications and yet receive visual notifications.
- Steps:
- Long-press the chats in question and select Mute
- If you want all chats muted, go to Android Settings → Notifications → App notifications → Messages Notifications → and switch setting to Silent.
