Why are my messages encrypted?
Have you noticed your sent messages are getting errors, “the bridge hasn't received the decryption keys” or “This message is waiting for decryption”?

For the error “the bridge hasn't received the decryption keys”, moving to the new generation of Beeper Desktop should solve the problem. For the error “This message is waiting for decryption”? Signing out and login in to your Beeper app, verifying with your Beeper Recovery Code, should solve the problem.
Why This Happens
• You’re using an outdated version of Beeper Desktop. (Beeper Desktop v3 or Beeper iOS v3)
• You’ve switched devices without verifying the login using your Beeper Recovery Code or a Beeper client on the v4 version.
Solution Steps
- For: “The bridge hasn’t received the decryption keys”
- Check your app version.
- If you’re on Beeper Desktop v3, upgrade to the latest version from beeper.com/download
- For: “This message is waiting for decryption”
- Open your Beeper app.
- Sign out
- Log back in with your email.
- Verify using your Beeper Recovery Code when prompted, or another Beeper client on the v4 version
