Inbox 3.0 is designed to help you hit that exclusive Inbox zero. This guide will help you navigate all the buttons and tricks you’ll need to learn to master Inbox 3.0 on all clients: Desktop, iOS, and Android.


The Design: Desktop

Your Desktop Inbox 3.0 will be separated into 3 sections:

Favorites

These are the chats that you choose to set up as Favorites. Hence, they are always accessible. You can add to Favorites by right-clicking the chat and choosing Favorite.

 

Inbox

These are the chats that are currently active. A chat is considered active when it matches one of the below criteria

  • Recently Active: You sent or received a message in this chat within the last 1 minute (you can always change that from Inbox Settings). The timer does not start until you are not viewing the room.
  • Draft: You have typed a message but not sent it
  • Pinned: You can pin a chat to Inbox by hovering on a chat then clicking on the pin or by right-clicking the conversation and clicking on “Pin”.

 

Archive

These are the inactive chats that do not match any of the criteria mentioned in the above two sections.

 

Icons and buttons

Settings Buttons

This will present you with a small context menu where you can tweak some settings for Inbox and Archive

Sweep read messages to older chats

This button will move all of your read chats to Archive.

Draft

Seeing this next to a chat means that you have an unsent message pending.

Pin

This enables you to Pin a chat from Archive and makes it always available in Inbox.

Pinned chats act like any other room in the inbox and will be ordered with the most recent activity at the top.

Archive

Marks an active chat as done and moves it to Archive.

Presented when hovering over an active chat.


The Design: iOS

Your iOS Inbox 3.0 will be separated into 3 sections.

 

Favorites

These are the chats that you choose to set up as Favorites. Hence, they are always accessible. You can add to Favorites by long-pressing the chat and choosing Favorite.

 

Inbox

These are the chats that are currently active. A chat is considered active when it matches one of the below criteria
